How to Select the Correct Tablecloth Size
1. Identify the shape of your table and measure it.
- For a rectangular table, measure sides for width and length
- For a square table, measure one side and you can use it for both width and length
- For a round table measure the diameter
- For an oval table, measure both the width and length and make sure both measurements go through the center of the table
2. Determine your desired drop - how far over the table you want your tablecloth to hang.
For a casual setting we recommend to chose a drop between 7 to 9 inches on each side. Anything less than 6 inches will make your table look out of proportion.
A drop of 10 to 12 inches will reach the lap level.
For a formal look you might want a slightly longer drop, 10 to 15 inches on each side. To determine the drop you need, we recommend you measure the distance between the table and the chairs and see what drop would look good.
